The Chesapeake Bay Division of the International Association for Identification (CBD-IAI)
is a non-profit organization for persons engaged in the forensic identification disciplines,
including crime scene investigation and the scientific analysis of physical evidence.
Members benefit from continuing education, professional development, exchanges of
techniques & methodologies, review of instruments & products, and the sharing of our
collective professional experiences & wisdom.
The CBD-IAI was chartered on November 1, 1962. The CBD-IAI is one of the largest and most
active of the IAI Divisions. We have a membership of well over 500 people. Numerous
CBD-IAI members have served in official capacities in the Parent Body. We are honored to
have in our membership employees of several Federal law enforcement agencies, and
Students / Interns currently engaged in advanced forensic science studies.
The CBD-IAI provides bi-annual training, a professional publication (The Chesapeake
Examiner), a scholarship program and this website as resources for the benefit of
persons engaged in the forensic identification disciplines.

The Chesapeake Bay Division invites all interested persons to benefit from our membership and
Educational Conferences! Members annually receive two (2) issues of the
Chesapeake Examiner newsletter and also receive the current Membership Roster, Constitution and By-Laws.
The CBD-IAI holds a Fall and a Spring educational conference each year. The
conferences start at 1:00 p.m. on Friday and go through Saturday night's banquet. Elections
and Installation of Officers are held during the Fall Conference.
