September 2020
It is a privilege and honor to address you as the 59th President of the CBD-IAI. I have been a member for just over three years but I feel like I have been part of this family for much longer. I know this year has been very trying on all of us. We are facing a global pandemic, social injustices and natural disasters, but I along with the rest of the CBD-IAI Officers, Board of Directors and committee members are here for you and stand with you. We have worked hard to provide you with a virtual conference even during these rough times, so as professionals we can continue our mission of learning new techniques and moving forward to make us better as a scientific community.
The CBD-IAI members, Officers, Board of Directors and committee members welcomed me with open arms when I first put myself up for nomination (with a little encouragement) as 3rd Vice President not that long ago. Since then I have worked with the most determined, sincere and passionate people to provide the best conferences and seminars for the benefit of our members as well as the Forensic community. As a girl from New York City, I never thought I would become the President of an amazing community and organization like the CBD-IAI. As President, I promise to keep working hard to provide educational and career information in additional to opportunities for our members, students and the general Forensic community.
Some of this promise is already in the works as we are moving from a two-day conference to a three-day conference for Spring 2021. With the support and encouragement of the Officers and Board of Directors, I will be able to offer a longer, more education-packed conference in 2021. I would like to take this time to thank our Officers for all their amazing assistance and dedication which allows the CBD-IAI to function as a cohesive unit and provide the best resources to our members.
Over the last year, a few new faces have joined the CBD-IAI family. I would like to welcome all of you. I look forward to the CBD-IAI opening new doors and more educational opportunities for its members, students and the Forensic Community.
We will be working hard throughout the year to plan the 2021 Spring Conference to be held in Ocean City, MD at the Clarion Fontainebleau, from May 19-21, 2021. More information will be released on the website once available. I personally invite each of you to join us in Ocean City, MD for an education packed three days with delicious food, a relaxing view and social engagements.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me or anyone of our Officers with questions or suggestions. The CBD-IAI strives to be the best organization it can be for you as members and for the Forensic community. Thank you for this amazing honor to represent the CBD-IAI as President.
Sincerely,
Dani Louise O’Neill
