Kelly Ayers Message |
April 2017
Greetings all!
It is a privilege to have the opportunity to address you as the 56th President of the CBD-IAI! When I began participating in this organization many years ago, I didn’t foresee being in this position (ever). I thank you for putting your trust in me to lead such a dynamic group of forensic professionals!
The 2017 educational conference…what can I say?! Rebecca Wood, the presiding President, managed (not surprisingly) to bring together a phenomenal program in Frederick, MD. Giant shout out to her as well as our speaker coordinator, Chris Claytor, vendor coordinator, Shelly Brazelle, and all the other officers and committee members that contributed to the conference success. We each were dedicated to our individual roles with Secretary-Treasurer, Jessica Landi, being the glue that keeps us together. I don’t know what we would do without her!
Bridging the Generational Gap…conference theme and mission accomplished! We had an outstanding student presence as well as the wisdom of the experienced. The CBD is honored to have been the driving force bringing these populations together. I see nothing but a bright future ahead, for both the organization and the profession.
This year our fall seminar will be held in Richmond, VA during the month of October. First Vice President, Chris Claytor, is diligently working on the logistics which will be announced on the web site soon. We are also working hard on the planning of the Spring 2018 Educational Conference to be held in Morgantown, WV. We hope you can join us as we celebrate 20 years of forensic science at West Virginia University! Calling all alumni…this is for you!
Please do not ever hesitate to contact me with questions or suggestions for this is YOUR organization. Your leadership consists of people who listen and put forth effort in making the CBD the best it can be. I hope to see you in Atlanta at the parent body conference…be sure to find me and say hi!
Respectfully,
Kelly R. Ayers, President
