First, I'd like to thank each of you who attended our Spring Conference in Morgantown, West Virginia - your attendance marked our largest Conference to date! We had two hundred and seventy-four (274) individuals registered. And based on the feedback I received, everyone had a terrific time! It was particularly rewarding to see the interaction between the established experts and all of the college students just starting to pursue a career in Forensics. Our outstanding educational program was arranged by Deborah Leben and Tom Gambrill's efforts brought in nineteen (19) vendor participants. There are so many of you who contributed to the success of this Conference. I really appreciate everything that you have done and I know will continue to do to support this organization. CBD-IAI Teamwork made it happen!
The Fall Conference will be held at The Clarion Resort Fontainebleau Hotel in Ocean City, Maryland on November 4th and 5th. The Clarion has a lot to offer including an indoor heated pool, health and spa facilities as well as terrific golf courses just a short distance from the Hotel. This is also a "Dog Friendly" hotel so those of you who like to travel with your pet just let them know when you make your reservations. You can learn more about the amenities at http://www.clarionoc.com. This is a very popular oceanfront hotel so don't forget to make your reservations EARLY for the Fall Conference.
We just returned from the International Conference in Dallas, Texas and CBD-IAI was well represented. We really enjoyed a "Taste of Texas"!
Thanks again for all of your support during my year as President. I hope that you are enjoying this year as much as I am.

As the incoming 43rd President of the Chesapeake Bay Division of the International Association for Identification (CDB-IAI), I would like to thank each of you for the amazing support that I received as I approached this honor.
First, let me commend Pat Davis for an outstanding year as President. And, a special thanks for graciously performing the installation ceremony. Next, I would like to take this opportunity to applaud all of the members who were elected to office and those who willingly agreed to work on the committees. As President, I am truly fortunate to be surrounded by such talented individuals who consistently demonstrate their dedication and commitment to this organization. I look forward to working with all of you as together we manage the affairs of the CBD-IAI. Remember, this is your organization and together we can make it even better. I encourage each of you to contact me or any of the other officers with questions as well as your ideas and suggestions for improvement.
I am committed to making our upcoming 2005 conferences both educational and enjoyable and am really looking forward to a great Spring Conference in Morgantown, West Virginia on April 7th-9th. Deborah Leben has worked diligently to put together an outstanding educational program with speakers known throughout the Forensic Community. Please join me in thanking our friends at the University of West Virginia for their hospitality and support of this upcoming conference in their home town. What a remarkable group of individuals!
