500 ml Sodium hypochlorite in 500 ml distilled water​

Procedure of Application
  1. Process item with Physical developer and rinse.
  2. Immerse in working solution for 15 seconds.
  3. Thoroughly agitate in a distilled water rinse.
  4. Allow to air dry.
  5. Photograph any enhanced ridge detail.

Development Complete When
Darkening of the ridge detail visualized with Physical developer, and a lightening of the background is noted.

Source of Error
The item must first be pre-treated with Physical developer.

This process cannot preceed the use of Silver nitrate.

The item must first be pre-treated with Physical developer.

Precautions
The item must be thoroughly rinsed after immersion into the working solution, else deterioration of the item may occur.

Dark or Clear stoppered glass or plastic bottles.

Process Summary:
A process for darkening the ridge detail visualized by Physical developer. It also lightens the stained background and removes ninhydrin stains. This process is especially effective for brown paper bags and for currency.
