Ne'urim Declaration

The International Symposium on Fingerprint Detection and Identification meeting in Ne'urim, Israel in June 1995 established a consensus amongst delegates from 11 countries regarding the issue of "fixing" the number of points of identification.

The "Ne'urim Declaration" states the following:

"No scientific basis exists for requiring that a pre-determined number of friction ridge features must be present in two impressions in order to establish a positive identification."
