Change in Membership Information

Please use this form to notify CBD-IAI of any changes to your membership information, including your name, agency, address, phone number, email address, employment status, or other contact details. Keeping your information current helps us maintain accurate records and ensure you receive important membership communications and benefits.

Getting involved in the Division can be rewarding to a CBD member. You can learn so much more about the Forensic and Crime Scene professions through close contact with experts as they carry out functions for a professional organization such as the CBD-IAI. You can read all the books you want, attend all the classes you can afford and try to "go it alone". Still, the best way to improve your skills and to really learn these disciplines is through side-by-side contact with experts already in the field.

In order for the CBD-IAI to function smoothly, the division needs its members to call upon skills which they already have, or are interested in acquiring. The wide variety of skills is needed by the division to operate the educational conferences and to serve the membership between conferences.

Skills needed include:

  • Person to Person Contact

  • Organizational Abilites

  • Computer Software and Programming Knowledge

  • Audio Visual Components and their Operation

  • Writing and Editorial Abilities

  • Public-Speaking Skills

  • Fund-Raising and Grant-Writing

  • Collection and Display of Historical Items

Several committees need to be staffed to permit the CBD to function as a Division that is responsive to its members:

  • Conference Planning

  • Constitution and By-Laws

  • Editorial (newsletter and website)

  • Nominating

  • Auditing/Fiance

  • Membership

  • Student Development

  • Continuing Education

  • Scholarship Fund

  • Publicity

  • Website

  • Any Special Committee appointed by the President

Educational Conferences are a time when demand for volunteers is high. Many functions and duties must be performed "behind the scenes" in order to pull off a successful conference. A typical conference requires people to perform the following duties:

  • Set-up and staff the Registration Desk

  • Perform Audio-Visual support for speakers

  • Organize and perform any fund-raising activities

  • Collect, transport and award the Door Prizes

  • Assist the Vendor Coordinator to facilitate the Conference Vendors

  • Forward any emergency communications to delegates

  • Liaison with hotel conference manager and staff

  • Photography and collection of conference historical items

If you have an interest in becoming more involved with the Chesapeake Bay Division by offering to help with any of the above-listed functions or committees, kindly contact the current 1st. Vice President of the CBD-IAI. By contacting this officer, both of you can become familiar with each other prior to that officer taking over the Presidency of the Division.
